With as little as nine days apart of the death of Alexander McQueen's mother, Alexander McQueen himself was found dead on the 11th of February 2010 in his West London home following his conspicuous suicide.
Confirmed by his publicists,"At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family," using Lee, McQueen's real name.
Just five days before his apparent suicide McQueen had tweeted "Been a fucking awful week but my friends have been great but now i have to some how pull myself together and finish with the ..." His profile was removed from the site the day of his death.

McQueen who as born in 1969 took an apprenticeship at Savile Row tailors Anderson and Sheppard and later at Gieves & Hawkes. "Absolutely tragic" were the words used by actress Helena Bonham Carter to describe the loss of Britain's best loved fashion designer.
